Default ATI "On Track" with RADEON X1000 Availability Dates

Graphics chip designer ATI Technologies on Tuesday denied rumours regarding possible delays of shipments for its RADEON X1600- and RADEON X1800-series graphics processors introduced in early October, 2005. The company said it would ship the products on time.

When announcing the new RADEON X1300, X1600 and X1800-series of graphics processors earlier this year, ATI promised that end-users will be able to get the RADEON X1600-series and the RADEON X1800 XT starting from the 30th and the 2nd of November, respectively, whereas the RADEON X1800 XL and the RADEON X1300-series was projected to become available starting from the 5th of October.

“We are on track [to deliver the products at specified timeframes],” a spokesman for ATI Technologies said, noting that several web-stores already had the RADEON X1800 XT products in stock

At press time a lot of online stores in the USA and the UK were selling the RADEON X1800 XL graphics cards with 256MB of memory from ATI’s add-in-cards partners. None of the online stores listed in PriceGrabber, Pricewatch or Shopping.com price-search engines offered RADEON X1300-series graphics cards.

Allstarshop in the U.S. had RADEON X1800 XT 512MB in-stock and available for purchase at press time, whereas popular Overclockers.co.uk and Overclock.co.uk stores in the UK offered to pre-order the RADEON X1800 XT 512MB graphics cards with shipments scheduled for early November. ATI RADEON X1800 XT-based graphics cards with 256MB of memory at press time were expected to arrive in November, but some stores listed the 28th as the arrival date. All the RADEON X1800 XT graphics cards featured price-tags beyond recommended levels.

Sources close to ATI Technologies said that MSI Computer has already started to supply its unspecified clients with ATI RADEON X1300-series graphics cards. Several stores in the EU already sell the parts, according to Clubic.com engine.
