After our testing today, we can confidently say that the Radeon X600 XT is indeed a juiced up version of the Radeon 9600XT that runs on PCI Express. We've benchmarked both cards and saw that the difference between the Radeon X600 XT and Radeon 9600XT can really only be attributed to the extra 70MHz of memory speed the Radeon X600 XT has.

Performance between the two only varied by a handful of frames throughout our testing. Both cards have the same architecture and are both great mid-ranged cards. We were surprised that the Radeon X600 XT was able to overclock as well as its Radeon 9600XT counterpart, something that enthusiasts will definitely take note of when looking for a mainstream card that runs on the PCI Express bus.
