Default ASUSTOR Announces Compatibility with 3 New WD® Red® NAS Hard Drives

All ASUSTOR NAS devices verified as being compatible with WD's three newest WD Red® Hard drives. New models include the 3.5” 4TB WD40EFRX model, 2.5” 1TB WD10JFCX model and 2.5” 750GB WD7500BFCX model.

Taipei, Taiwan, October 1st, 2013 –ASUSTOR Inc., a leading innovator and provider of network storage solutions, has announced today that all of its NAS products are fully compatible with WD's three newest models in its WD Red® series of NAS hard drives. These new models consist of the 3.5” 4TB WD40EFRX model, 2.5” 1TB WD10JFCX model and 2.5” 750GB WD7500BFCX model. No matter if it is the higher capacity required for business applications or versatility required for home and SOHO applications, ASUSTOR NAS users can enjoy more flexibility and choice when selecting disks for their NAS devices.

All ASUSTOR NAS devices were designed to feature easy hard disk installation and hot swapping and all support the installation of both 2.5” and 3.5” hard disks. Additionally, ASUSTOR NAS supports online capacity expansion. This allows users who have low storage capacity needs or are on a budget to first start with lower capacity hard disks and then upgrade to larger ones as their storage needs grow. During the capacity expansion process the NAS remains online and fully ready for use allowing users to freely access all their data.

“ASUSTOR NAS supports different RAID configurations which help to protect users'data. This allows users to create suitable RAID storage volumes (for example, RAID 0/1/5/6/10) according to their NAS model and storage needs,” said Quote Lin, Director of Research and Development at ASUSTOR. “After testing by both ASUSTOR and WDD, the three newest WD Red® drives have been verified as being suitable for use with ASUSTOR NAS and for constructing RAID volumes.”

All ASUSTOR NAS devices, including the flagship 6 series and the powerful home multimedia 3 series, are powered by Intel® Atom™ processors which provide stable operation along with high speed data transfers. All ASUSTOR NAS devices have been upgraded to the ADM 2.0 operating system which provides users with a more intuitive experience. ADM 2.0 features ASUSTOR's App Central App library which currently leads the industry with over 100 unique downloadable NAS Apps. All Apps are free to download, allowing users to upgrade their experience while exploring the unlimited possibilities of NAS.

ASUSTOR NAS devices are suitable for use with 2.5” and 3.5” hard drives from a wide range of world-renowned brands. For a complete list of compatible hard drives please visit the official ASUSTOR website: http://www.asustor.com
