The 802.11ac-router express has only really begun gathering steam over the course of this year. Almost all of the larger manufacturers have at least one model on offer, and many already have a complete line-up. Up until now, we've seen two distinct "waves" of 802.11ac routers. The ASUS RT-AC87U and Netgear R7500 that we cover in this review are the first models belonging to the third generation. We've tested them extensively.
