| Asus EAX1950 Pro After falling behind in 2005 with Crossfire and R580, ATI came out at the start of 2006 strong with the release of the X1950 series of video cards. ATI took the performance and image quality lead but the excitement was dampened a bit with Nvidia's launch of the 7900 and 7600 series of cards just a few months later, not that the cards were necessarily faster (though the mid-range were), but that it was such a perfectly executed launch, with vast numbers of products at retailers all over and cards from numerous OEMs. Of course probably the biggest hardware news this year, even than Quad Core or Core 2 Duo was the purchase of ATI by AMD, the company we have been following now for over eight years here. With that dramatic change hopefully we'll see ATI shaken up a bit and more timely but in the here and now we have a look at one of ATI's newer cards from the top-tier manufacturer Asus, the EAX1950 Pro. http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?o...tid=276&page=1
