Default Apple turns to muppets to code

Bought to you by the acronym “FFS.”

Apple is proving that it should be let nowhere near television programming by announcing a TV programme for kids where muppets program software.

Now, we know what you are thinking, Apple software has been programmed by muppets since the outset, which explains why its software is insecure and has difficulty telling the time.

Among the original Apple TV+ shows Cook announced at Apple's March Event was Helpsters, an "incredible new preschool show" about coding from "the peeps at Sesame Workshop and Apple".

Apple CEO Tim Cook apparently has a cunning plan to use Sesame Street to make pre-schoolers want to code.

In a skit on stage at the Steve Jobs Theater a Helpster monster from the new show named "Cody" (get it!) explains to Big Bird: "See, coding fosters collaboration, critical-thinking skills, and is an essential language that every child can learn. By teaching pre-schoolers about coding, we are giving them the opportunity to change the world."

Apparently, some sites have a problem with one dubbing Cody as "a sociopathic tech recruiter muppet", complaining that "teaching kids about technology is fine. But this is just creepy".

They objected to the show's targeting of pre-schoolers.
