Apple fanboys rush to download Microsoft software
Members of the fruity cargo cult have put aside their long held differences with Microsoft to buy millions of copies of Vole's Office software for their iPads.
According to CNet, Microsoft's Julia White says Office for iPad apps have been downloaded 27 million times to date. That is more than double the number announced last month.
Speaking at the Microsoft's TechEd conference, Julia White, general manager of the Office division, said the number of downloads for the top 10 countries as has reached 27 million, up from the 12 million figure announced on April 3.
That means that daily there are more than 587,000 Apple fanboys who have discovered that they are desperate for Microsoft products and are looking outside the Walled Garden of Delights for something Volish.
This makes Microsoft Word the most popular free Office app on the iPad and is now ahead of Google Docs.
Vole is using a "freemium" model with Office for iPad. That is, Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be downloaded free of charge to view documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
However if you want "advanced features" such as document creation/editing -- users must have a subscription to Office 365.
