APPIAN ANNOUNCES THE PHOENIX RADEON™ QD
Appian innovation and industry alliances provide professional markets with superior DVI-I or analog performance in a low profile, four-display solution

REDMOND, Wash. – March 30, 2004 - Appian Graphics, the leading provider of professional multi-display solutions, announced today the PHOENIX RADEON™ QD, a high-performance four-monitor solution designed for low-profile computers in professional markets—including finance, medical, non-linear editing (NLE) and digital content creation.

"Appian has a proven track record of leading the market in quad-display solutions," said Jim Greenup, president of Appian Graphics. "The PHOENIX RADEON QD is the culmination of our experience with professional users and provides our customers with industry-leading performance in a highly reliable, low-profile quad-display solution."

Powered by two ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON 9000 mobility graphics controllers and 128MB DDR SDRAM, the PHOENIX RADEON QD provides individual monitor resolutions of 2048 x 1536 in analog mode and 1600 x 1200 in DVI-I mode across four displays. Flexible for current and future user requirements, the PHOENIX RADEON QD offers an integrated quad DVI-I output and ships with Molex DVI-to-analog adapters at no additional cost. This solution ships with ATI's CATALYST™ driver suite as well as ATI's HYDRAVISION™ multi-display software to provide users with unparalleled flexibility for configuring multiple display settings.

"The PHOENIX RADEON QD is the latest Appian product to benefit the multi-display market through our partnership with ATI," said Greenup. "The PHOENIX RADEON QD combines a decade's worth of multi-display expertise with the leading-edge performance and reliability of ATI technology. This winning combination provides our customers with unparalleled DVI performance to deliver pixel-perfect digital images of the highest quality."

Appian also announced today a technology alliance with Molex® Incorporated. The PHOENIX RADEON QD is the first Appian product to benefit from the alliance by incorporating Molex's dual stack Ultra+TM VHDCI (Very High Density Cable Interconnect) connector and shipping with Molex DVI-I cables and analog adapters. "The Molex Ultra+ VHDCI connector enables Appian to provide high-performance across four displays on a small footprint board," said Greenup. "We evaluated several alternatives and were extremely impressed with the durability and ruggedness of the Molex connectors."
