Default Antec VCool VGA Card Cooler

Video cards are just so hot these days! Sure you could go ahead and go through the process of taking off your video card's heatsink and fan, but that's a lot of work. Why not use up some of those empy PCI slots with a VGA cooler, like Antec's VCool? We look and see why you should!

Why would it be trash? They aren't exactly the same product are they? The product does its job. The test results confirm it:

All you would need to do is find a VGA Silencer Review with Google to compare and look at their temp drops, ease of installation, and there ya go.

You have to remember, not everyone wants to pull apart their video card for one reason or another. This is a drop in solution. The VGA Silencer isn't.

Never find the need to use VGA cooler; and got pretty nice OC'ed speed in both core and memory. Moving the "dead hot spot" under the vcard helps air circulation in cooling both and not voiding warranty.

installation, thermal paste, burn in time, room temps

too many variables to compare 2 review results

I understand that you are a fan of the VGA Silencer. I see that you even own one. But as you pointed out, things need to be the same in order for the two products to be compared. Because these products aren't the same, they really can't be compared. The VGA Silencer is specific to a Video Card based on which one you buy. The VCOOL is a universal product to fit ALL PC's. Specialty products do have an advantage of a custom fit, and normally, better performance. However, the VCOOL can be put in any machine for a measurable increase in performance due to cooler temps, without alteration, or voiding of warranty. Definitely desireable by many.

We have requested a VGA Silencer to review. Then people can decide which one would suit them best based on their own merits. So to say the review is TRASH without comparison to a different product like the VGA Silencer is...invalid.

This is not an AC Silencer. This is just a fan that provides fresh air to the vga cooler's fan.

It's like you would place an 80mm fan underneath the vga card.
You can't say more than what kind of temp drop it will give. And even then, there are soo many factors than can influence the results. If you have a lot of (good) airflow, the advantage will be smaller than if you have no airflow.
Same for the cooler on the GPU, on will profit more of it than another (placement, fanspeed, fan type, ...).

@Firewire: are you having problems with the internet ? Almost all images are gone :rod:

Hmm... Is anyone behind some heavy firewalls or Proxy? If you are, because we have hotlink protection, the server might think that the proxy is hotlinking the images, because the URL does not have futurelooks.com in it.

now it works, with firewall (Sygate PF) and referrer logging disabled.
