AMD X3 and X4 Overclocking Ace Up Its Sleeve?

AMD has pulled a rabbit out of its hat to increase the performance of its existing Phenom triple-core (8000-series) and quad-core (9000-series) processors. Six "hidden pins" on the processors and chipsets are the secret, which, our sources told us, will enable simple overclocking through the southbridge - and accelerate the current processors on demand.

So, if the system automatically overclocks the CPU to 3,2GHz, why can't we find 3,2GHz retail CPU's from the green camp? They like to toss away money or something?

Same reason as Intel doesn't want to add higher bin grades? Intel chips can do 4GHz but that doesn't mean Intel will offer anything above 3.2Ghz.

Not sure there would be much to gain, AMD can't really raise the price of processors to match a 3.2GHz chip. Not all websites show AMD winning the price/performance match anymore as it is.
