Default AMD socket 939 CPUs to die this year

IF YOU like, have or want a socket 939 CPU you'd better get one for Xmas. AMD will stop taking orders for that one by the end of the quarter. Only you are a very important customer might you have a chance to buy one until June the 30th 2007.

AMD wants to finish up with the DDR-only 939 CPUs. They will probably be sloshing around in the channel for a bit longer but the plan is to kill them for New Year's Eve. Socket 754 will get to live one more quarter and after that it will start to fade our as well. It's already had its death sentence.
