AMD's Socket M, AM2 to launch before June 30th

WE saw that AMD suggested to its partners, to its original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to its system integrators (SIs) and the rest that Socket M, AM2, or whatever it\s called must be launched before June 30th.

AMD wants to meet public expectations for the first half of 2006. It will launch with DDR 2 667MHz DRAM. The DVT samples are expected in April while production should start at April/May timeframe. All has to be well for a June launch.

The pressure is on.
