![]() | ![]() Sempron, a recently announced microprocessor from Advanced Micro Devices intended for clients looking for affordable solution that still delivers decent performance, has made it to the market: stores in the USA as well as in Asia are now selling various flavors of AMD Sempron products. AMD Sempron central processing units are positioned as 32-bit solutions for value market segment – personal computers priced below $1000 – and compete with the arch-rival’s Intel Celeron D chip that saw the light of the day in July, 2004. Xbitlabs.Dealtime.com search-engine has found AMD Sempron models 2400+, 2500+, 2600+, 2800+ and 3100+ on sale for $65, $79, $89, $118 and $129 respectively in the USA. Japanese web-site Akiba PC Hotline reports about models 2400+, 2500+ and 2600+ of AMD Sempron processors available in Tokyo, Japan. Business prices for AMD Sempron processors 3100+, 2800+, 2600+, 2500+, 2400+, 2300+ and 2200+ are $126, $109, $85, $74, $61, $45 and $39 respectively. ![]() | ![]() Along the same line ...... Does anyone know if the mobile A64 will work in desktop? I'm not sure if the BIOS will have any negative impact; despite the fact that I assume the Heatsink mounting does not present problems.

![]() | ![]() I'm not sure the pinlayout will be 100% correct, it would be smart for AMD to change some pins around or make the dimensions a wee bit different I'm looking for a cheap XP2200+ Sempron for a review btw, know a shop that has them?
