Default AMD promises tri-cores next year

AMD will introduce two flavours of triple-core micorporcessors in February 2008, while it will also introduce two more dual core CPUs.

Digitimes said the tri-cores will have frequencies of 2.5GHz and 2.3GHz, quoting sources at AMD partners.

It will also introduce Lima single core Athlons and a single core Sempr0n Sparta during the first quarter of next year, the report said.
