AMD Dual core arrives in Taiwan
"The AMD Athlon 64 X2 is manufactured on a 90nm process and has about 233 million transistors. The integrated memory controller currently supports DDR-400 modules. Utilizing known Socket 939 infrastructure, the new processor only requires a BIOS update to be used with the previous generation of motherboards, AMD said. All the arbitration between the two cores is implemented inside the processor. Initially, the AMD Athlon 64 X2 will be available in four versions: the 4200+, 4400+, 4600+ and 4800+ priced from US$537 to US$1001 in 1000-unit quantities."
