Default 32GB Laptop SODIMMs Start Showing Up at Retailers

While some modern consumer platforms theoretically support high capacity sticks of DDR4, actually obtaining unregistered 32GB sticks has proven to be a challenge. Samsung's 32GB unregistered desktop DIMM that was spotted back in September is still MIA. In fact, I can't find a single 32GB unregistered DIMM that appears to be in stock. But some eagle eyed users on the NotebookReview forums noticed that laptop SODIMMs with 32GB of memory crammed into them are starting to show up at a few retail outlets. Joedoewoe already bought some and confirmed that they work in in a Coffee Lake based laptop, but as far as I can tell, no one has tried them inside SFF PCs like an Intel NUC or Zotac Magnus yet. The sticks I see on Amazon right now (which were listed just a few days ago) are ridiculously expensive, but searching for some of their model numbers turns up listings on other sites that appear to be more reasonably priced, and in stock. These new listings mean that 32GB desktop DIMMs might not be far behind.
