500Mbps powerline adapters have arrived and are here to stay. If you also should buy one of those, depends on your needs. For simple networks a 200Mbps model is fast enough. But if your network is quite busy, then the extra bandwidth of the 500Mbps models comes in very handy. The difference in price between 200Mbps and 500Mbps models is still so significant, that it's definitely worth taking this into consideration. Over larger distances and with interference, it's less noticeable whether you have an adapter with a theoretical maximum speed of 200Mbps or 500Mbps.
