Default 3.5" Rheobus.. PC-Mods or not ?

I'm confused.. in this review
http://www.iamnotageek.com/modules.p...id=50&pag e=1

you can see they say they have a PC-Mods rheobus..

however.. it clearly stated here by Polyp & other that it is a no-name one
http://forum.spelletjesgarnaal.be/sh...o&pagenumber=2

you can see by the photo's that we are talking 'bout he same product..

what's going on ?

could IANAG.com be wrong?

Hi... this is the reviewer!!

I was registering to reply here when I received your e-mail... what a coincidence. My HTTP referral log lead me over here, so I though I'd say Hi.

Not sure what people think we're wrong about, but this is a summary of what I said in my e-mail, perhaps it will provide clarification although I am not sure what the issue is really:

I do not think that PC Mods manufactured it, but they are selling it without
a brand name other than their own advertised... The packaging mine came in
does not mention any manufacturer, so since PC Mods provided the review
sample, and they are the reseller, I am referring to it as the PC Mods 3.5"
Rheobus. I have seen a few other sites posting reviews of this item
recently, all sponsored by PC Mods as well, and they also refer to it the
same way. Like this one, for example:
http://www.virtual-underground.com/r...FANCONTROLLER/

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say the manufacturer is Sunbeam Tech. I
did a review a few months back on another rheobus and it came with similar
packaging, documentation, and accessories...

Hi, thanks for your reply

it seems indeed the sunbeam comes in pretty much the same package.

was just wondering cause in the local HW stores in Belgium these rheobuses aren't called "PC-Mods.."

it's called "Klax Fancontrol Unit"

on this dutch .nl site
http://www.tweakers.net/reviews/357

exactly the same model , again

they try to confuse us!

OK... I understand now. I saw people suggesting I was wrong (which I have learned to live with, haha), but wasn't sure what the issue was this time... No big deal.

I guess whoever manufactures them leaves them "plain labeled" for OEM type sales. But, the specific unit I reviewed was provided by PC Mods and can be found on their site here: http://www.pcmods.com/details.asp?ProdID=597
