Default 27 SSD Drives Compared

The SSD, everyone talks about, everyone wants and yet ... This market is still in its infancy for us end users even if SSDs are already present for many years in industrial and military. This means that like any emerging market, we find everything and anything often. As we demonstrated in our previous articles, do not jump on the SSD first come, especially if the price is too attractive. The technology that powers the SSD is not always well understood by manufacturers, is not standardized and sometimes it follows the successive updates of firmware.

Another parameter that must be considered when evaluating a DSS for its "wear". By using it, it is possible that the performance of a flash disk deteriorate. This degree of deterioration depends on many factors like the type of bullets used by the management controller, the wear leveling, support or otherwise of TRIM, etc.. Given this, our goal is to better inform you of what exists at the DSS, as in our article on the importance of the controller or in our test Intel SSD at which a large portion of the article was devoted to explain the operation of a DSS and the issue of reliability of the data it contains.
