| The 20 flavours of Windows 7 Earlier today, Microsoft confirmed that its next operating system, codenamed Windows 7, would in fact be called just that when it hits shelves at some point in the next few years. Good on 'em, I say: a simple, no-nonsense name suggests they're approaching it with a clearer eye than they had cooking up the hypefest that was Vista. But if there's an instinct that Microsoft will find hard to put to bed, it's the one that led to more versions of Vista than can be counted on one hand. The place is run by a sales guy, after all! Click through for our exclusive leaked ad covering the 20 separate editions of Windows 7, straight from our anonymous sauce. http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/1...nounces-1.html

| I really hate such garbage, there is some certain type of guys around who would complain about just anything. If we had just one version of Windows, this same guy would cry for something "better tailored for the average customer"... After all, most people (certainly most of them) become their OSes preinstalled and don't even know or care which version they are running... So if there is a problem at the end, it isn't average Joe's problem, but rather Microsoft's, for being so stupid to sell different flavours of the same thing. But we all hate Microsoft, so this should be ok, right. |

| We don't all hate Microsoft and there is a reason why they make different versions, at least 3: 1) Basic Version 2) More advanced version (for those who want to pay more to get more) 3) version for enterprises |

| I know, but I don't like it when people start bashing MS after someone just made a joke about them, that spoils the fun for me |
