Default win xp boots but then hangs

my hardware: nf7-S with barton 2500, radeon 9800, logitech cordless desktop, iiyama 18" tft.
What did I do: installed win xp prof en
then installed latest nforce drivers
then encountered the catalyst problem as mentioned in the other post
then installed latest logitech drivers
then installed norton personal firewall, gives error about liveupdate that will be unavailable but finishes the setup.
I rebooted after each step but now when windows is loaded my mouse and keyboard don't respond anymore, I don't get it.

ALready did a new format but this time no logitech drivers, didn't use the functions keys anyway. This time I installed the omega drivers, hope these do a better job in keeping xp working(if the video drivers are to blame that is)
