What digicam to buy?

I've been looking around, but I just realised I'm about as experienced to digicams as *ehr* Bosw8er is to heterosexual relations

What am I looking for?
A cam that can do 1024*768 or 1600*1200 pics, Low Medium High quality selections. Enough mem onboard . Oh, and good colours, so no webcam experience

For what use?
I'm looking to make some reviews and I'm in need of something to photograph my Shuttle, but it should also take good pictures of P4 heatspreaders and core codes (good enough to be able to read them), AMD XP cores and labels and other ****

Budget?
I'm guessing 2 to 300€ (w/o shipping)

Could anyone help me? thanks a lot

Digicam wise: in .Be : Canon S40 or A40

in .De.. Fuji xxxxxx .. richbastard has the info on that one

both hover around your budget

f601z is an awesome digicam for it's money, but it's slightly over your budget (375 @.de).

Keep in mind dpreview compares it to digicames of 750~1000 eur.

Bosw8er, it was me all along hehehe, "your" yr
I have proof of Bosw8er visiting Red and Blue multiple times

And could you guys elaborate on the 'specs' I need instead of all those models? I saw a 4.4Mpixel Trust for 150€, haven't a clue if it's good (Trust has some good cams, but I have my needs)

seem oki for the price!

Quote:
had orginally bought a Powershot A40, used it for a month and exchanged it for the A60. I think for the money, this camera is the best thing on the market. I have had a few shots not focus, bust I think that may have been more of me and not the camera. I have printed shots taken from this camera and they have came out great. I find that the CF door on it feels weak, I am afraid of breaking it. For the money, id say this is the best camera you can get.

try the pricewatch @ www.tweakers.net
Dutch shops seem to have killer prices for digicams.
