Wat is DUAL DDR,
 

Ik ga me binnen enkele weken een nieuw moederbord, processor (intel 2.66) en geheugen kopen.
Gigabyte heeft een nieuw moederbord uitgebracht met de nieuwe Intel 875 chipset (GA-8IK1100)

Deze ondersteunt 800 Mhz FSB en dual DDR.
Vraag :
is DUAL DDR een apart soort DDR of betekent dit dat het een speciaal moederbord is dat het ram dubbel aanspreekt en de RAMS dus ook dubbel moeten zitten op het moederbord?

No special ddr ram needed. Just buy 2 (or more) sticks, prefarably exactly the same.

eg. 2*PC3200 256mb

If you use 2 memory banks (2 x 256) in DDR mode how much ram is than displayed in Windows 256mb or 512mb?

go for HIGH quality ram (corsair/kingston/mushkin/apacer) so that you won't encouter problems

cheaper PC3200 RAM tends not be able to run @ those speeds with good memory timings (the lower the timings = the faster, and cheap ram runs @ slow/high timings)

apacer isn't that good, their pc3200 is cas 3 so that is very slow

brands should be chosen -> in that way from my above list :)

I've got two sticks of Corsair XMS 256MB DDR cl2 (LINK) on an ASUS P4G8X deluxe (LINK), and I must say I've never been so satisfied with my PC as I am now, this baby almost flies =)
