Default Unreal 3 engine <--> graphical cards

What is known of the specs for the Unreal 3 engine if it comes to grapical cards? Someone said me you need a Graphical Card of at least 512ram on-board for super settings. I, today, heared you need at least 1024ram on-board for the best settings on the unreal 3 engine? He also said the cards that are out right now won't even run on the minimal settings.. the unreal 3 engine will be used somewhere in the beginning of 2006..
He can be talking bullshit.. I somewhere heard they will use the Unreal 3 engine somewhere around Q3 2005. I don't know that much about the information that is released of the unreal 3 engine.. can someone tell me some facts? I've that feeling he's talking bullshit.

his original quotes in DUTCH:

Quote:
jij denkt unreal 3 goed te kunnen draaien op een 6800 gt?
mimimum 1 gig ram op je 3d kaart, niets dat nu uit is kan het draaien op zelfs maar het minimum...en tkomt maar ergens in 2006 uit

Don't live by rumors; Q3 2005 has a way to go yet let alone 2006.

Electronic industry has a planning horizon of 1-5 years; there are many "wet dreams" on the table; they remain "wet dreams" 99.9% of the time.

We all like "wet dreams", don't we?

I play the current ut2004 on a GF2 MX if necessary (and I'll kick yer *** with it too B) ), and that card is already kinda old, AND it was a low-budget card at the time.
GF3 was launched in 2001, and runs the game perfectly...
Nobody knows what unreal3 will be like, but I think that if it will be released in 2006, that high-end cards NOW (end 2004) will be able to play it. Even pretty decently.

they'd be stupid to make it unplayable on low-mid range cards, because the majority of gamers have those cards.

just look at systems specs first rumoured for Doom 3 and HL2.

they both can be played on GF2 MX
