TV-card or a Videocard for capturing movies? When I have my new PC I'll be creating movies I recorded from my consoles (= Xbox, PlayStation 2), I had a Pinnacles Studios PCTV Rave on my old pc, it was decent and I could capture movies in a very decent quality.. I'll be buying a new TV card when I have my new computer.. when I was looking on the german site: www.e-bug.de I saw they have 2 sections: "TV-Tunerkarten" and "Videoarbeitung" that means the first are TV cards and the second are Videocards? When I had my PCTV Rave TV card I never watched TV, that's not the reason why I bought it in the first place, I need to play console games on my PC and record it at that moment.. so what would I best buy? a "TV-tunerkart" (tv card) or a "Videoarbeitung"? (Videocard) ??? it would be handy if you could tell me a type. :) |
I think the main difference is that TV tuner cards have Video In aswell, but then again, so do ViVo cards and they are usually classified as regular videocards ... |
can someone give me a type that is recommended? Or can someone give me a site where such a section is with reviews of TV-cards etc? |
Best card is the Hauppauge pvr-250. it records in mpegII. All the encoding is done on the card itself and not by your cpu. You can also consider the pvr-150 or the pvr-350 both from hauppauge |
All In Wonder from ATI ..... Personal Cinema from Nvdia; Leadtek TV tuner/capture PCI. Used all three of them; best for capture rather than games is the Personal Cinema .... direct burn to VCD or DVD. |
hmmm those hauppauge: http://www.e-bug.de/cgi-ssl/preise.c...r=9364&piname='Hauppauge+Tunerkarte+WinTV+PVR+250+PCI'&hbestnr=' 1067553 158€ Hauppauge PVR 250 http://www.e-bug.de/cgi-ssl/preise.c...r=5894&piname='Hauppauge+Tunerkarte+WinTV+PVR+350+PCI'&hbestnr=' 1077555 155€ Hauppauge PVR 350 their price is really close to each other.. what's the best one of those 2? and ATI's All in Wonder and Personial Cinema from Nvidia are in the graka itself? so no extra costs? What about Pinnacle? |
I've got a Pinnacle Stereo here. No complaints about it :). Very decent card for a nice price. |
http://www.libblerabble.com/videos/ movies made by the Hauppauge PVR 250, aren't those horizontal lines horrible? O_o many people on another board recommend me "Canopus" : http://www.canopus.us/US/products/In...duct_index.asp |
