Ah crap, that was going to be my proc. Ok, then the first 939 that hits the 200~300 euro range.

Indeed it does look like 754 is staying a lot longer than expected. Now if only the K8T800pro's and NF3 250 mobo's would be available in Europe.

Sometime very early in 2005, AMD will wave a magic wand, and all of a sudden, socket 754 will become AMD's Celeron line, and suddenly, everyone is supposed to suddenly stop buying socket 754 and start buying socket 939 systems, leaving those suckered into socket 754 high and dry.

For the life of me, I cannot see why AMD would want to do this.
eumh, for the money!?!

For those interested, there's an ia going on at http://inkoopacties.net for X800 RPO's (about 350€) and X800 XT's (about 450€).

For those without "contacts" it's a pretty good deal.

The person organizing the ia is "CT Gilles" I don't know him but his name rings a bell and he seems to be well known in the enthusiast world.

He is ordering from America, wich is why the price is so low, there are no taxes included, and unless customs intercepts the shipment, you won't have to pay those taxes at all.

He claims he has contacts at customs wich should take care of this issue, thus diminishing the chances of getting caught.
