It's been a while ...

I've been out of the computer-business for a while now, and I was wondering if you guys could help me with Intel's naming of it's core2-cpu's.

So far, I know that the ones that end with 50 run at an fsb of 1333, but that's about it :(

can somebody help me out?

look into Lazyman's Asrock motherboard reviews of the past weeks, very affordable C2D system with killer performance:)

thanks for the tip, but that's not what I was looking for
What I'm looking for is info on the naming of the cpu's, what the numbers and letters stand for.

for example, I know that the "50" in E6550 stand for 1333fsb, but what does the rest stand for?

Speedgrade and onboard cache,

E6400 = 2Mb L2 cache 266FSB
E6420 = 4Mb L2 cache 266FSB
E6550 = 4Mb L2 cache 333FSB

full listing with all the details you can find here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...icroprocessors
