Q6600:how to recognize a B3 stepping from G0?

any marking on the processor or box or part no. that allows to recognize a Q6600 stepping G0?

One has the s-spec SL9UM. That's the old one, B3 stepping.

The other has the sspec SLACR, and it's made using the new G0 stepping.
