Default password protect a folder

I'm looking for a free program that can password protect some folders on my computer. Idealy it should be asking for the password when someones tries to access the folder, but that's probably to much to ask (I can't even find a free program that can actualy lock a folder).

I'm not looking for a program that creates encrypted containers like TrueCrypt does nor do I want to use winrar to create a password protected file.

Any suggestions ?

Vista and XP and a single user environement. On another forum, someone reminded me about a Microsoft application that -I think- was capable of doing this. Anyone knows this application (btw. the M$ application wasn't available anymore after a week or something ).

//edit: I have strange brains, can't remember anything, but 'microsoft private folder' was the first thing that came to my mind after hiting the post button
//edit2: does what I want it to do, but I'm limited to only one folder and I can't change it ... so I'm still looking
