I give you 5$ for spelling heatsink correctly. :p Either try heating it up to ~60-70 degrees, or try to freeze it before removing. Either way it's a pretty risky operation. |
a friend of my tried to remove his heatsink and the processor came together with his heatsink. But now ge can not get his cpu back in his mobo. I have put the heatsink + pro in the freeze. But it steay together. :( |

But for the moment all my attemps to remove the heatsink from the heatspreeder fails. :( |
just warm it up, the thermal pad between the heatspreader (CPU) and heatsink (big cooler) wil come soft, and like bubble gum, easy to remove. and ffs: Quote:

No! NO NO NO you will destroy your P4 for NO GOOD REASON.. warm up the heatsink and the P4 will come off by itself. |
it is an old processor a 1.8Ghz processor. The warrenty is passed, and we removed the IHS form the processor, cleaned everting and put it back together. The systems is running. |
without a heatsink then? because know you have a heatsink with an IHS stuck on the bottom. |
yes, and now it was possible to put the processor back in the mobo. Before we put the cpu in the mobo we cleaned the top of the cpu and the bottum of the IHS. And after we placed the cpu in the mobo, placed some artic silver on the cpu and then we put the headsink with IHS on top of the processor and close the klems. The computer started up without a problem and know everty runs fine. |
:ww: u had no idea what u were doing, and yet you did just fine incredible |
