Need advice on cooling
I need some advice on cooling, due to the warm weather we're experiencing, my system seems to crash on every game that I play.
I believe it has to do with my gpu overheating, as it seems to spike during gaming (using nvidia control panel to check this).
What would be this best solution to resolve this problem?
Btw, don't with which prog you guys use to monitor temps, any help here is also appreciated.
All stocks speeds (don't know anything about oc anyway)
Standard coolers as delivered with products
Hope I have included enough info.
* CORSAIR TWINX 1024MB PC3200 (2X512MB)
* MSI NX6800GT-T2D256E 256MB PCI-EXPRESS GEFORCE 6800GT SLI
*AMD ATHLON64 939 3500+ BOXED SOCKET 939
* ANTEC PLUSVIEW 1000AMG
* ASUS A8N SLI DELUXE
get [g]rivatuner[/g] to monitor the temps over a period of heavy gaming time of that 6800GT (you have 2 of them? SLI?)
Get [g]speedfan[/g] to monitor temps of the CPU
open your side case panel , place a blower near it and see it the system still crashes; check the temp logfiles
CPU may reach 65°C, anything over that is risky
GPU('s) may reach 90°C, anything over that may see a decrease in performance
it's quite possible that the problem is NOT heat related. specific games you run before the crash?
If it is heat related, I would get a silent Package from Arctic Cooling with 2 Silencers for the 6800GTs and a Alpine 64 for the CPU. The noise reduction alone should be very noticable.
The cheapest solution would be to clean out the dust of everything.
