my barton is a fre'kin T-bred hi ya'll, I finally got my new rig. (like 15minutes ago) I ordered a barton(2800+), I saw the core: it was a barton ! But my comp says it has only 256Kb cache weird !! barton = 512 :grum: cpu speed= 2.2 gig weird !! barton = 2 gig now, did the guy made a mistake or does my cpu has alzheimer ?? thx! |
where does your "comp" say it is only 512kb ? |
can you show us a WCPUID screenie? |
I'm not a noob ! ;) I ran WcpuID and it said: 256Kb cache and 2.2Ghz I ran 3d-mark: it said 256 2.2Ghz |

I think there are 2 solutions: or, my barton is missing half of it's cache :puke: or it isn't a barton and I payed to much. And btw, what's better: barton 2Ghz or T-bred 2.2Ghz ? :king: |
Tbred will be faster again: what motherboard/bios rev? |
mobo is an MSI K7N2G wcpuid is above. |
maybe u should flash your bios , my asus A7N8X didnt support bartons too in the beginning, but with a simple bios flash it does |
okay, flashed BIOS yesterday. still no 512Kb cache. but the guy who helped me said there were bartons with only 256Kb cache. is he right or does he mean a T-bred B ??? |
uhm afaik Barton = 512kb cache. |
maybe your version of wcpuid doesn't recognize the barton, and misreads the cache |
no, it's the latest version I DL'ed from their site. ya well, I'm just going to live with this cpu. And I'm thinking of also looking for some H²O cooling. (I'm here at a lan-pary with like 30comps now.) And I guess 58° isn't that good. thx again guys. |
Just FYI , AMD has 2 AMD XP 2800+'s! there is a 256k one (2.25GHz) and there is the Barton one (2.0GHz) with 512k you prolly paid alot for yer AMD XP 2800+ (FSB333, 256k, non barton) |
yea, I know that. I ordered a barton, but it's a T-bred. ya well, got my money back. I'm pleased. |
a free T-bred? :) |
nah, just the difference. don't know how much it was. (my paretns took the money since they payed half.) and I hate the duwbass who builded my comp. (couldn't do it myself for personal reason reson) I wanted AS3 and an alpha pal ot SLK-900 he: volcano + 2€ coolinbg paste is good enough. --> 60 ° !!! replaced it with AS3 --> 55° |
ya well, I'm pleased right now. going for H²O when I have the money.:^D  |
