I don't know; for $500 you can get a more powerful and feature rich 15" laptop... don't really get this whole "mini-laptop at price of normal laptop" crazy

small, light, good battery life

you won't get that for 500$ in a 15.4" model

errr, you want to pay $500 for a brand new laptop that with such a slow processor ? 1,6Ghz Atom is 800 to 1Ghz in PentiumM terms ... The other specs aren't too great either.
And btw, I can get 5h30 battery life out of my 15" Inspiron6400 too

as jmke always points out, you don't need a fast CPU if all you do is browse the web and do office work

size & weight of a cheap 15.4" Compaq:

35.7 x 26.5 x 3.5cm, 2.6 kg

vs the Wind:

25.91 x 18.03 x 1.78, 1.2 kg

Especially the fatness is an important factor to me and before the EEE Notebooks you had to pay insane amounts of money for small notebooks, now you don't need that anymore.

Btw, there were plenty of people at Asus who said EEE won't work at Asus and now it sells like hotcakes.

In Belgium Asus EEE and similar small PCs don't sell at all, apparently

the one online shop that has got them here, is selling them as fast as they come in

I really wonder who buys them though :)
who's the target audience?
