mobo issue as my p3 700 isn't good enough for me (no decent cooling available for oc'ing, i'll need the pc for a while) i've bought (on hold though) -a slocket adapter -a celeron 1200 mhz my question: my mobo flashed bios displays multipliers up to 10 (or 11) what will be the effect if i would put a cpu with a higher multiplier? on the oČ fora they gave these possibilities: a) it just doesn't work b) there are problems with higher multipliers c) when the bios flash was released, there were only chips on the market with 10x/11x multiplier=>higher multipliers can be reached or: the cpu runs at 10/11 multiplier, can this be possible? greetz, T |
mmmm isn't it possible to select "auto" or something? |

I think it'll work.. Worst case = no boot.. |
what is the core type of the celeron? it might not be compatible voltage wise for the mobo you are using. |

i'll check my bios in a moment mot: multiplier up to 12x core voltage up to 1.85 so the 1200 won't be a problem:super: anyway, i'll try to borrow a 1400 anyway to test it |
