Maxtor (SATA) probs

I've had (and now still have) a lot of prob's with Maxtor SATA drives. One was DOA, another sudenly died, now I have someone with bootsec problems en my dad also knows someone with a broken Maxtor 120Gb.

So I just wanted to know if some of u have had problems with Maxtor (SATA) drives (its because I sometimes make computers and forcom only delivers maxtor drives :grum: and the less probs afterwards, the beter :D )

bought a maxtor 8MB cache 120 gb ide disk last august, worked for about a month, then failed on me, RMA'ed it, the new one was even worse than the first one, RMA again, the third one seems to work fine for now, although sometimes it refuses to boot...

all together, i'm not that satisfied with maxtor HD's :(

Maxtor 120HD do seem to have a bit of a critical period of about 1-2 weeks. If it works longer you'll probably never have problems with it.
But maxtor RMA has been increasing. Powermax can fix many problems however.

If you want a sure bet, take seagate, they're doing much better.
