The 3.4 Ghz will be faster.

The new socket makes no performance defference at equal clock speeds. The Intel board has the budget minded version of the intelchipset, but that makes less influence.

So the 3.4 GHz will be faster.

There are socket 775 boards around with PCI-E (PCI - express)

(PCIX is server / High end 64 Bit PCI)

It certainly isn't slow, and yes more futureproof then 478 (that's end off life). But an A64 setup will run cooler AND faster. For -probably ;-)- a lower price.

yes, if you "have" to go with Intel go with LGA775 + PCIe
