IBM T43 Notebook - Help

I've had my T43 for about 2 months now, I got it as a graduation gift after highschool. I moved to Florida for school, and it has been sitting in a case for a few weeks ( I didn't have a wireless router yet to do anything.) I just took it out to see if the new router works, and when I press the power on button I get absolutely nothing. I plugged it into the wall, and I get the power on light and the battery light, but nothing appears on the screen.... what's wrong with it?I have even charged it to full now, and I still get nothing. I can hear it running, but nothing at all comes up on the screen, it's just like the computer is off totally. Looking for some input

has it got VGA out, if so, try connecting a screen to it and restart.
