| i have 2 normal (i guess) 10/100 networkcards., one is used for telenet right now so no wireless things i guess |

| woops misread wired/wireless yes go for the CAT5 cable solution! telenet NW card = mostly 10mbit

| yup it is oh btw: i have 2 10/100 nw cards in this pc with win XP home. now i'm planning to put one of those 10/100 cards in the second pc. will win xp give any trouble? i heard that winxp "binds" itself with a network card |

| uhm.. what do you mean? You now have 2x networkcard for what purpose? Inet sharing? changing netwerkcards might force you to reconfigure TCP/IP etc.. but nothing more

| there won't be any problem WinXP handles changes in hardware quite well

| when you install a NIC in winXP, it automaticaly creatas a LAN-connection, bound to the card's MAC adress, so when you replace the card with another, XP simply creates another, fresh connection |

| you have to watch out with xp and networkcards in plug and pray mode. in 90% of the cases the above is true but not with my nic(network interface card). In XP it's detects the card but install's the wrong driver for it, and my pc craches if i want to download something, surfing is ok. Now i install the driver for W2K and it works but it's not the way to go. |

| hehe google + "difference hub switch" in het kort HUB krijgt data aan op 1 van zen poort & stuurt dat naar ALLE poorten zonder "nadenken" SWITCH krijgt data aan op 1 van zen poorten, ziet voor "wie" het is en stuurt het enkel naar de juiste poort resultaat: sneller netwerktraffiek, op voorwaarde dat er meerdere mensen tegelijkertijd data aan het versturen/ontvangen zijn prijsverschil voor kleine switch/hub is heden ten dage te klein om NIET voor een switch te kiezen + meeste switch hebben AUTO sensing 10/100 capability + meeste switch werken perfect met FULL duplex Full duplex: tegelijkertijd naar de switch data sturen als data van switch ontvangen Half duplex: u raad het al, ofwel data versturen, ofwel data ontvangen
