HELP Genius! Windows XP Dual Core question

I installed my Windows xp using a D-805 dual core processor a few months ago.

I'm downgrading to a single core P4-506.

Do i need to reinstall operating system?

I'm worried because my winXP installation might not be optimize for single processor since i switched from dual to single.

thanks.

No you don't have to reinstall the OS; plug and play
