Default Fan speed

Newbie question ?

My CPU fan runs @ 2850~2960 rpm ( default 12v ) , can I adjust it to a higher speed ( in bios ? software ? ) ? or I've to buy a new fan ?

Thank !

Default

does your mainboard regulate the fanspeed, e.g. by Q-TEC?

if it does: adjust the BIOS settings or disable the fanspeed function
if it doesn't: get a new fan
