Default External Multiple HD Enclosure

Hello,

First post on the forum :-)

For the moment i have 8 hard drives packed in a coolermaster stacker case.
Problem is that the case is to heavy, and when i go to a lan, i have to take the whole case with me.
I recently bought myself a shuttle barebone to take with me on a lan.
Problem is, i only have 2 hard-drives in it.
I want to take my other hd's with me, but don't want to take the stacker.
Sollution could be is buying a couple of external hd enclosures.
But that's not an option.
So i'm looking for an external case where i can put 8 hard drive's in it, for a reasonable price.
I could make one mysels, using 2 coolermaster drive bays. And then i could adjust the meisurements to my shuttle case.
Problem is that i don't know how to make one myself.
An usb/firewire/network interface would be great to have !!

Thanks, and don't mind my crappy english !

if you want a high(er) performance solution and a retail product you're going to have to pay a lot. too much in my humble opinion for what you'll get back in return.

What you could do is set up method to use SATA and external 4-pin power cable to get it working, that would be the cheapest solution.

Otherwise you'll have to invest into something like this: http://www.proavio.com/products.html

Quote:
4 disk 3Gb SATA JBOD storage solution designed for high resolution desktop audio production, digital video editing, and creative design services. The editBOX 4 is now available with eSATA and Port-Multiplier interface options.
