which cpu is best?

Hey all

I'm wondering what you folks think about power house CPU's. I'm on a budget of 150 to 250 and have 4 CPU's in mind. I'm looking for overall best gaming performance, overclockability, and reliability.

1. AMD Athlon 64 FX-55, 2.6GHZ
2. AMD Athlon X2 4400. 2.1 GHZ dual core
3. AMD AMD Opteron 170 Denmark, 2GHZ dual core
4. Intel core 2 duo conroe, 2.13GHZ dual core

Lemme know what you think would be best or suggest your own, from what i've gathered the FX and Opterons are the best from AMD for overclocking, but everyone is a buzz about the core 2's saying they can get like over 3GHZ in core overclock. So i'm a bit stumped on what's the better buy.

for best value, you cant go wrong with nr4, the E6400.

i just got one myself. does 3200Mhz @ 1.280 Vcore & 35°c stressed @ 7V fan (CNPS 9700).

that's a 50% OC without even pushing the Vcore...

Combine that E6400 with a P965 Chipset based motherboard and you'll be cruising over 50% OC easily and pulverize the fastest AMD CPU you've listed there
