Default Which case to get?

My Athlon xp1800 has served me well over the years, but it's time for an upgrade. I'm pretty much set on what hardware to get, but i'm having a hard time choosing a case, there's so much to choose from.

These are the main ones I have in mind:

Coolermaster Stacker 810

Thermaltake Armor

Lian-Li PC-V1000

What I look for in a case

- It has to have a lot of room.
- Fit at least 5hd's out of the box
- Easy to use
- look purty
- size/weight is not an issue

Anyone have experience with any of these, or know any other cases that meet these requirements?

Can't choose

It will be like listing three women of your choice and asking us to pick one for you

They are all good; your choice your case

don't think that the Stacker can fit 5 hd's out of the box, you need to buy an additional hd cage.

I always wondered who the heck needs more than 4 SATA ports.

Would you explain us why you need 5 HDs?

I have 8 Hard Drives in my PC, 8 sata ports is a dream come true

when you upgrade you don't lose HD space by swapping out, but keeping the older drive

btw hello Infernis, long time to see/hear

Next setup will have 2 raptors in raid, that's 2 slots allready. I'm also bringing over the storage hd's I allready have.

Yes, the stacker would need an additional hd cage, and from what i've seen, most .be shops don't seem to have them.

guess it's between armor & lian-li.

Thermaltake's tai-chi is also quite nice, but can't justify paying that much for a case.

Jmke, i'm a professional lurker =-)

tones.be has the hd cages for the stacker

normally every store which sells coolermaster can deliver them

i would go for the stacker

The stacker has excellent build in HDD cooling if you install 3x120mm fans at the front, even the slowest fans at 7v will provide enough airflow to your HDD to keep them running cool all year long.

tones has the older stacker model (STC-T01), i'm looking for the revised version. (810) But good to know they have the module

I'd like to order everything in 1 go from the same shop, with the best prices possible. German shops seem to be real cheap, anyone know any trusted ones?

Even tho you'd have to pay for transport, i think it would still end up cheaper.

as an example

OCZ 2 x 1gb platinum is about €40-€50 cheaper

7800GT also about €50

x2 3800+ about €40

it all adds up
I'm still waiting for the 7800 512mb tho and see if it will drop prices on other cards.

The lowest price heavy case that holds as many HDD you want I could think of is Sunbeam Transformer.
