Big Typhoon CL-P0114 fit on my new Asus LE P8P67
Any way to get my old (never out of the box) Big Typhoon CL-P0114 CPU cooler to fit on my new Asus LE P8P67 MOBO?
I'll be getting a i7-2600 Quad 3.0 6Hz w/8GB memory.
Sorry, best I can find is it will fit LGA 775, no updates beyond that listed.
You can get an Asrock board as they have an additional hole set for LGA 775 Coolers.
Or wait for next time. 1156 is compatible , sometimes with a few tweaks to backplates.
The Cooler Master Hyper 212+ is the most common USA recommendation, available on line here under $30.
The Big Typhoon is rated to 130 watts.
I've already ordered the ASUS P8P67 LE (from Micro Velocity) with the following components:
ASUS P8P67 LE REV B3 MOBO LGA (CPU Socket 1155)
i7-2600K quad 3.40GHz w/8MB cache
Intel Certified Heatsink Fan, Thermal Controlled Variable Speed Fan
8GB DDR3-1333 Dual Ch memory
1024MB NVidia GeForce GTS 450, PCI Express 2.0 Dual Monitor (DVI-I, DVI-I, Mini HDMI)
1 TB 7200 rpm 32MB Cache SATA 300 w/NCQ
On-Board Integrated ALC892 8-ch audio
20x DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Burner
Integrated 8-in-1 Flash Memory Media Reader
Gig Ethernet Network Adapter
2 Rear USB 3.0, 6 Rear USB 2.0, Firewire, and Audio Out/Mic, 2 Rear eSATA
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I asked because sales suggested that I upgrade the cooler — so thanks for the advice. It's just as well, I'm not too crazy about removing the MOBO just to install the BT.
I'm not a gamer so this new machine should be even faster than my 4-year-old self-assembled PC which will become my emergency backup.
