Default best buy for about €1000 ?

a friend of mine is going to upgrade his pc and we were wondering what he schould buy, he has a budget of about €1000

this is what he needs:

* motherboard (now: one from MSI, but it's busted, hence the need to upgrade)
* processor (now: AMD 1800+, may be busted too, not sure)
* RAM? (now: 768 MB PC2100 DDR, Twinmoss I think)
* graphics-card (now: GF3-ti500)

he's not looking for the best oc-able stuff, but for best speed

This is waaaay to expensive!!
-instead of the abit, go for the epox nforce˛ (cheaper, better performing)
-instead of corsair, go for twinmoss (same amount of MB and same speed)
-XP2800+ is great, buy wathever you want
-instead of a 9700 PRO, you can buy a connect3D radeon 9500 and softmod it into a 9700, or just buy a 9700 (non-pro) and overclock it, do whatever you like...

cooling...imagination my friend, choose wathever you like...

if he isn't looking for oc stuff then he won't be oc-ing, right?

the Abit board has more features then the epox
corsair is always the best you can get
en the best graphics-card is a radeon 9700Pro

the best speed/price config:

Epox 8RDA+ (the abit has some bugs in it)
Twinmoss PC3200 2*256/512 (corsair is way to expesive, and is it better?? exept the Heatspreader and oc'ing, no!)
graphics: Radeon 9700 PRO I guess, or a Radeon 9700 and oc it to a 9700 PRO (if possible)
