advice on DDR2 please

Hi,
since I'm quite ignorant about the latest development on the market about DDR2 (amongst many other things) could you give me some advice on which brand would you choose according to theese criteria:

- good price/performance: I'm not necessarily interested in the lowest price, of course if it's good cheap and fast even better :D;
- reliability;
- performant enough to allow low/mid overclocking
- 2x1 GB.

Thanx for your wisdom/knowledge/patience
Lino

gulp, now I'll have to find a primer on memory technology, when they started with "4-4-4-12" or "CAS5", they left me in the dust...:D

I'm leaning toward Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC6400 4-4-4-12 2*1GB at 116 euros (in Paris)...

good enough for sure:)

But take also a look at this if you're going Core.

any opinions about Gskill? I only know by reputation OCZ, Crucial, Corsair, Mushkin but on french forums I often see the Gskill brand that seems good (?) and not expensive...

I just bought a Dell vostros laptop that came with only 1GB ram so I bought a dualchannel 2GB kit from Gskill cuz it was nice and cheap, only 80 bucks. I have never used Gskill ram before but it's nice stuff, no errors, and for laptop memory it's fast. Alot faster then my desktops DDR 2gb ram.

In the past I've used Adata almost exclusively cuz it's nice and cheap and i've never had errors with it, tried a dual channel kit of corsair ram one time and it had errors out of the package with memtest so i sent it back.

In short Gskill is a good brand for the money and nice timings, I'd go with that.

I have a pair of el cheapo G.Skill F2-6400CDL5D-2GBNQ; it does 910 @5-5-5-15 and upto 417 @4-4-4-12 with very little increase from 1.8v default.
