searching a case

http://www.american-media.com/Produc...gt_cf1009.html
or
http://www.arprotek.com/Product/CF-1009.htm
(its the same case)
i can't seem to find it anywere in .de, .be or .nl and shipping it from the US is a little bit to expensive (costs more then the case itself)

so the question is, does anyone know where to get this case?

damn, nice case, only the colour is not my style...don't they have it in black??
I think the intakeholes will be too small if you place 2 80m fans in front...

I have a AMS CF-2029 (black) and I bought it @ comtechnology, maybe you can mail/call them and see if they can order one...

I also like that case but which color will your optical drives have? Black? Or will you do a stealth mod or something?

first have to find the case for i get to the plan part. black is an option ( always liked black and my currecnt case is also black) but that brushed alu look is also nice (only the frontpanel is a little bit on the downside)

drives can be stealthed by coolermaster plates (if i can find those somewhere cheap)

FreeStyler 12th January 2004 20:11

We have CF cases but only the midi tower version.
This looks a bit larger.

Laagvliegerke 12th January 2004 20:14

What do you mean with "black is an option"?
You aren't going to paint that case black, are you? :)
That brushed alu-look is indeed very nice. The only reason I don't want to buy such a case, is that black or beige drives don't match the colour or the case. Except if there is something available to "hide" the drive (like the Antec P160).

I just wondered what you are going to do because I'm also looking for a new case. I don't like to do a stealth-mod on my brand new PX-708A :D

why not paint it black?

cR00zIFI><3r 12th January 2004 20:38

you will not have the same effect as the original silver.
unless you have superleet painting skills. (unlike me)

Isn't she (are cases female? :D) to beautifull to paint? ;)

BTW, I don't know if it's important but I think that the case doesn't have a removable mobo-tray.

cR00zIFI><3r 12th January 2004 20:54

yeah, I also noticed that 'minpunt'
Too bad, or this would be the 'perfect' case

BlackRabbit 12th January 2004 21:13

lack of removable tray is not a minorpoint in my humble opinion..

cR00zIFI><3r 12th January 2004 21:21

it is when you often have to take out the mobo...

even then..

jmke 12th January 2004 22:25

it is when you cannot install your cpu cooler without having to remove the motherboard

not having a removable mobo-tray is a major bad-point in my humble opinion if you change your hardware config around a lot.

Sometimes those removable trays are a pain in the ***..
+ case are stronger/more robust with solid mobo trays..

Yes, it goes sometimes a little bit slower, but sometimes (especially when using cheap cases) it goes slower using the tray :/

jmke 13th January 2004 08:49

You also had your hands on the coolermaster I currently have, even with all sidespanels removed & the mobo-tray gone, the case is very sturdy.

the removable mobo tray from the Aopen HQ08 was also very good implemented

Indeed, I'm aware of that..

Let's conclude that, if you have to change hardware (that is, mobo/CPU/HS/cooler) alot, and don't cut down on your case (money-wise), a mobo tray is a pro.

BTW: maybe I've got a new case-review soon (after exams)
BR is back ;D
