Lasercutting : place your order (maybe)
 

My dad works in a inox factory where they have a lasercutter!

I finally convinced him to do "certain things after his houres". And I ordered a box to put my rheo in. (it's not actuelly a rheo, ask Anthro for details :) )

I'll have it in a few weeks and I'll post some pics of the result. Maybe you guys can order some stuff then, if you want to. Normally you'll be able to ask allmost anything if it's not too big.

c) a small case (at, for a mp3 box)

@TeuS : I know you placed an order some time ago. But then I had some trouble with my parents and I didn't reply. But that's OK now.

I'm still waiting for my piece. But I'll keep you informed.

IMPORTANT: I live in Ostend, so for the most of you it's far away. I'm willing to let everything be delivered by post, but I won't be responsible for the extra costs.

How about a sidepanel of a lianli midcase? Sounds duable or too big...?

i want:
1 sidepannel being cut in 2 parts + cutout of text in both parts
1 special cut for another sidepannel

120 mm cutout for fan in toppannel

all for a lian-li PC60.

is this possible + costprice?

[M] cutout in sidepanel of a Chieftec Maxi tower case?

Badges (size of bankcontact) with [M] cutted out in the middle doable? (should be of a sturdy metal, not bend-able)

badges are no problem.
BUT it won't be possible to do jobs in sidepanels, because of the paint. It's not very healthy for the laser-head-thingie. so only in inox.

lian-li = no paint, it's fully aluminium...

I'm terribly sorry, but only in inox.
please do remember that everthing is done after the houres, I my dad isn't exactly looking for trouble. And I'm not sure if it could be done. 'The laserhead' is 'afgesteld' op inox and unless you're willing to pay more that half a million for a new one....

inox is much heavier then alu
so, the laser needs more watt's to cut
alu is lighter=>less watts used to laser. result?
-what lies under the inox plate? that thing might get damaged
-your expensive alu sidepanel gets f***ed up: as much more watts will be applied (and alu conducts heat better then inox!), i think the area around were you lasercut will be blurry. in the worst case, it will be blurry and little bent to the inside

might be wrong, but that's what i think

When can they be done?
what's your asking price?

don't think so cause you can have it done at cube-computers but the price is too expensive (50 € / cut)

perhap's they've got a other type of cutter?
will be a less expensive one i think, they're just a shop!

they don't do it themselves, think they got some kind of factory that does it for them.

I need to know how many you want, and exact measurements.
And it can take quite some time.

I just want to point oit here that lasercutting Aluminium is not very interesting , as the metal tends to bend a little and become weak after cutting . For Aluminium watercutting is the desired option .

prijs ligt keihoog bij lage aankoop maar verschrikkelijk goedkoop bij grote aankoop ! (85x55mm =>bankkaart)
er valt te kiezen uit 1mm dikte of 2mm (prijsverschil)

de kosten voor een kleine batch te maken is véél hoger dan voor een grote reeks van dezelfde. logisch toch?
