the x800xt should suffice for everyone in my humble opinion;

the PE = overkill
just like the 6800 Ultra Extreme

as I plan to pelt cool it, I don't need a pe either, coz the xt will go just as high as the pe version

good point, i dont find different versions of the xt card on the sapphire websites (sapphiretech.com or .de), but all shops seem to sell the PE version

Yes. But with a PE + pelt you can go much higher!
The Samsung memory-chips of a X800 XT PE are faster (1,8 ns) then the chips of a "normal" X800 XT.

But on the other hand, I think an X800 XT PE is to expensive right now. Maybe it's better to buy an X800 Pro and mod it to an X800 XT.

X800XT and X800XT PE are the same
I had the same question and i E-mailed Sapphire.
They telled me that the normal X800XT will be only for PCI-Express
Every X800XT from Sapphire for AGP8x is a Platinum Edition

http://www.sapphiretech.com/forum/to...?TOPIC_ID=5707

Yes but, when you buy a X800XT for AGP from Sapphire then it is the Platinum Edition(520,1120) (Sapphire tolld me that)
The normal X800XT(500,1000) will be only produced for PCI-Express
And the Toxic will be the same as the other X800XT`s for AGP=a Platinum Edition with a blue PCB and a Artic Silencer in Toxic Design
