You can also use a P4 kit with a hold-downplate.
Have seen it done before and is very clean and effective

Quick question:
On those nf³ 250 s939 boards the socket is way lower then on most boards ...
Any idea how one is supposed to be able to mount it?
I know my hose is way too long for that :s
Can't even close the standardcase (mach1) on a regular socketA-board. Servercases close with some extra force

The only thing you can try without chopping up your mach unit is to put something between your mach unit and your case that would allow you to place the head and still close your case...
